Quick Navigation
1. How paying works
A StudoKe subscription is one payment made with M-Pesa for a fixed period — a semester, or whatever length the plan you bought shows in the app. There is no auto-renewal and no card on file: the subscription simply ends when its period ends, and you pay again only if you want to.
Because the money comes to us directly rather than through an app store, refunds are handled by us, not by a third-party store's support team.
2. When you can be refunded
A refund is due when both of these are true:
- You ask within 48 hours of the payment clearing. We count from the time the M-Pesa payment was confirmed on our side, not from when you first saw the price.
- You have not downloaded anything on the account since paying. That means no note, past paper, textbook, infographic pack or flashcard set saved to your device or added to your library.
Reading material inside the app does not count as downloading. The line is whether a file has left the app onto your phone.
3. When we cannot refund
- The request arrives more than 48 hours after payment cleared.
- Anything at all was downloaded on the account after payment.
- The subscription period has already ended.
- The payment was reversed, cancelled or never reached us — there is nothing to give back.
If a request falls outside the window but something genuinely went wrong — you were charged twice, or the app never unlocked after a successful payment — tell us anyway. Those are our mistakes and we fix them, usually by correcting the account rather than by refunding.
4. Requesting a refund
Use the form at the bottom of this page. Please include:
- The email address on your StudoKe account.
- The M-Pesa number you paid from.
- The M-Pesa confirmation code from the SMS (it makes the lookup much faster).
- What you bought and roughly when you paid.
- Why you want it back — one line is enough.
We check the payment record and the account's download history against what you have told us. That check is routine, not an accusation: it is the only way to apply the two rules above fairly.
5. What happens after you ask
- We reply to your email, usually within one working day, and say whether the refund is approved.
- On approval we send the money back through M-Pesa to the number you paid from. Safaricom normally credits it within a few hours, and up to 24 hours on a busy day.
- The subscription ends the moment the refund is issued, and anything already on your device stops being accessible to that account.
If we decline the request, we say which rule it fell foul of and when the payment was made, so you can see the same numbers we see.
6. Repeated refunds
The 48-hour window is there so you can try a semester's worth of material and back out if it is not for you. It is not a way to keep downloading every term and paying nothing. An account that asks for refund after refund may be declined, and we will tell you why.
