Growing Leaders Programme Session 3: Effective Leadership and Management Skills

On the organised sets of behaviour managers display and the principal skills they must develop. Works through the three types of managerial role, the technical, human and conceptual skills, with human skills defined as the ability to interact well and cooperate with other people to get things done through them and as equally important at every level of the organisation, and conceptual skill in dealing with ambiguous situations with far-reaching consequences. Sets leadership against management, one promoting vision and dramatic change such as new products and one managing vision and holding order and predictability, and shows both as approaches to improving results.
