Growing Leaders Programme Session 5: Leadership and Team Performance

Second module's session on practice: a leader's effectiveness judged by the impact on the members of the team led. Defines a team as a group in which members work together intensively to achieve a common goal, capitalising on the skills and personalities of its members, and treats the difference between a group and a team, the leader's part in team performance and the costs of weak leadership. Closes on the exercise of describing an ineffective team leader you know and why that person fails to give adequate leadership, then an effective one and why they succeed.
