EBM 510 Tutorial Questions Two

Second tutorial sheet, on converter-controlled series motors. One question takes a fifteen horsepower, 230-volt, 900 rpm direct current series motor whose speed is controlled by a single-phase semi-converter, with combined armature and field circuit resistance of 0.18 ohms, continuous and ripple-free motor current, a machine constant of 0.04 newton-metres per ampere squared, a firing angle of thirty degrees and a 240-volt alternating supply, and asks for the motor current and motor torque. Another takes a fifteen horsepower, 220-volt, 1000 rpm series motor controlled by a single-phase semi-converter and then a full converter from a 250-volt alternating supply, and a third question continues the comparison of the two converter arrangements.
