Continues with the areas where methods study applies, the purposes of micromotion study, a standard time from a five-element study with personal and contingency allowances, a work sampling study of a component produced over five days, the jobs likely to be chosen in operation analysis, and the balance of an assembly line over an eight hour shift: total work content, maximum shift output, number of work stations, efficiency and idleness.
