ECU 400: Research Methodology Second Semester Examination
Research methodology paper for the bachelor of science engineering degrees, sat on Monday the twenty-fifth of January 2021 from two to four, question one and any two others. Section A defines research, then builds a study around a Kiwanja community school whose large roof could carry solar panels for a microgrid serving a community that has not had clean energy: the problem statement, four objectives, and the research design with its justification. It continues with four types of research, four motivators for research, and the five important parts of an engineering research proposal. Section B outlines the five functions of a literature review and five criteria for the selection of a research problem after Good and Scates; distinguishes field editing from central editing, statistics of attributes from statistics of variables, exclusive from inclusive class intervals, simple from complex tabulation, and mechanical from cross tabulation, and outlines the technique involved in defining a research problem; defines sampling, outlines the steps of a sampling design, and sets six agricultural engineering and macroeconomic references in the American Psychological Association format; and closes on the pilot survey and the main parts of a research report.
